A bit about me - Finola McManus FCA
As senior partner at Landers, a Bedfordshire based firm of Chartered Accountants, I led a significant change programme which culminated in the practice winning AVN ‘Firm Of The Year’, ‘Accountancy Age 2006/7 Firm Of The Year’ and regional’ Rising Star Business’ finalists for two years running.
For the last 5 years in practice I enjoyed 10 weeks holiday a year and worked a 4 day week alongside my business partner whilst Landers profits continued to increase year on year.
After surviving cancer in 2007 I sold my interest in Landers, wrote a book which will be published in 2009 and now spend my time helping accountancy firms achieve their goals. I am also completing a Diploma in NLP (neuro linguistic programming) and aim to share these skills with clients to improve how they run their businesses and personal lives. I would describe myself as a coach and mentor who also happened to be a partner in practice and has walked the walk!
I am passionate about sharing the secrets of my success and working with accountancy practice owners to ensure they get the best out of their business and achieve their own work life balance. My speciality is acting as a non-executive director to drive businesses forward. I feel I can draw from my personal experience of over 20 years in practice and negotiating a successful sale when I left the profession in 2008. Having developed and structured Landers in the way that I did, meant that I received a cash premium when I sold my business interest and was in a position to walk away at short notice leaving the business to continue to grow without my direct involvement.
